What age did you start playing Netball? 5
What is the best thing about playing Netball? The best thing about playing is the wonderful friends you make along the way. I still see some of the girls I played with in SAPSASA in year 7 and we always have a chat. Also the girls I play with now are an amazing bunch and always make me laugh with their antics!
Who’s your most inspiring Netballer & why? Most inspiring person would have to be Katie Liebelt. Her passion and knowledge of the game is incredible. She still to this day reminds me how lucky we are to be playing netball and that we should keep playing for as long as we can.
What motivates you to keep playing? My main motivator would have to be my kids. They get excited about me playing netball and they are always interested whether I’ve won or lost and who am I playing with etc. I want to teach them to be passionate about the things they love whether it be sport or something else and to give it 100%. I think the best way to teach them is to show them and lead by example. Also just to stay fit and healthy for as long as possible or until my body tells me it’s time to give up.
What’s the proudest moment in your netball career? Proudest moment would be winning 3 A1 premierships at Eudunda while playing along side my sister. I think it’s only as you get older you realise premierships are a hard things to come by. When we won them we had played in 6 or 7 grand finals in a row so we were getting quite complacent. If I knew then what I know now, I would have cherished all 3 of them that little bit more!
